Association Focus: Important News and Events

Cape Town Confirmed to Host 2027 BestCities Global Forum

We are excited to announce that the 2027 BestCities Global Forum will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 21–24 January 2027.

This will be the 10th anniversary edition of the Forum, bringing together international association leaders under the theme “Connected by Purpose: Global Perspectives, Shared Values.” Cape Town’s proven capability as a leading destination for international business events, combined with its distinctive sense of place and modern infrastructure, made it a natural choice for this milestone edition.

The Forum was originally planned for Dubai. Following careful consideration of regional developments, the decision was made to relocate as a precautionary measure. Our relationship with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism remains strong, and we are already exploring future programmes and opportunities in the destination.

For further details or to register, visit the Global Forum website.

Incredible Impacts Programme: Submissions Close 2 June 2026

The 2026 Incredible Impacts Programme is open for submissions, with a deadline of 2 June.

Run jointly by BestCities Global Alliance and ICCA, the programme awards a total of $25,000 USD to associations that create lasting change in their host destinations: a main grant of $20,000 USD for proven impact, and a seed grant of $5,000 USD for early-stage projects.

Past winners show just how far the funding can go. The Associated Country Women of the World used their 2023 award to support domestic violence survivors, establish income-generating groups for women in rural Mongolia, and engage local men in gender-based violence prevention, with that work continuing well beyond the event itself. Read more in this interview with ACWW, one year on from their award.

Submit your entry at incredibleimpacts.org.
